Is California still fining us for not having medical insurance?

My California covered is about to go up again and I cant afford it. will I get fined for not having it?

    Under Trump he did away with the fine.   But most likely Biden will bring it back.   Something no one talked about.    Cheaper to pay the fine then pay for health insurance.  I know.      I know a health plan called Hi Oscar.   And, it is really super cheap if you take the Bronze Plan with a  very high deductible.

    Yes.

    Health insurance is your 2nd most important bill after housing.  Figure out how to afford it.

    Car does not realize that California and New Jersey have implemented penalties for not having insurance coverage.  This is different than the ACA requirement that she is referring to.

    - She also has no idea that health insurance costs are different by zip code and age.  Oscar is cheaper than other companies because it has crappy benefits.  If you are going to pay for something, wouldn't you like it to help?
