I've seen several questions about chess on here lately.  Yes, I know how to play it, I just don't play it very well.  I understand the rules of the game, how the pieces move, etc.  I usually spend the game defending myself.  It's not that often I'm actually able to checkmate my opponent.

Yes. My dad taught me the game when I was in grade school. 

Yes.  Used to play two or three times a week during lunch break while I worked at a lab.  I had two regular opponents:  Dick, whom I never lost to, and Bob, whom I never beat.

Yes, I don't like to play it, but I know how.
