Which is worse for the environment?
I think about ways to be more eco friendly a lot and something dawned on me today, I got myself some dairy free butter but saw palm oil on the ingredients, what’s worse dairy free butter that has palm oil or regular dairy butter? Another one is milk, I often opt almond milk for dairy I’m not even vegan I just like the idea of it so try to make swaps where I can, but recently found out the negative impact from the manufacturing of almond milk has on the environment, so what’s worse regular milk or almond milk?

There's nothing wrong with real dairy products. Both dairy and it's imitation substitutes have some environmental impact. Dairy is no worse than the alternatives.

Anything taken from animals is going to be worse. Exploiting someone is always wrong. However there are palm free butters that also don't contain products of animal exploitation. Miyokos makes a delicious one and has also put a recipe for it online.
There are also tons of plant based milks so if you don't want to use almond milk there are loads of alternatives. Soy, hemp, flax, cashew, banana, rice, coconut, hazelnut, oat...

In order to feed people on a vegan diet, it was calculated that most forests would have to be cut down to grow enough food for the world. So a vegan/veggie diet is extremely worse for the environment. As we wouldn't have enough trees to clean our air.

Rearing cattle, etc. is the single most damaging activity for the planet, scientists tell us. I can't imagine that almond milk, which is mostly water anyway. Vastly more dairy milk is used and consumed than all of the almond, oat, coconut and soya milks put together.

I don't know why you would think products like milk or butter were “bad for the environment”.

Non diet milk and non diet butter has been made for hundreds of years. It wasn't an issue then, and for me, it isn't now.

As long as the human population continues growing, NOTHING you can do will help the environment. Enjoy what life you have.

I buy spread based on olive oil. I drink fully skimmed cow's milk. I doubt there is a dairy alternative that some fault cannot be found with.
