Did Yahoo really deliberately get rid of commenting on answers? It's not a glitch? People annoyed them too much?

For the ten thousandth time in the last 8+ DAYS, YES, Verizon Media did this on purpose for safety, security and legal reasons so the computer network might not be overloaded with spam and misinformation during the presidential election AND CRASH. Yahoo did the SAME THING FOR THE SAME REASONS in 2016 and 2012.
IT IS NOT A GLITCH. It is Not because people's comments?annoyed either Yahoo or Verizon
There is NO STAFF monitoring or moderating YA since the end of 2014

Yes, Yahoo totally did this.
But can I tell you something, I am glad. And I hope that unlike past times they have done this, they never bring the comments back.
I dont need them. My answers, irregardless of how controversial or inflammatory, are not up for debate or arguement. And it seems like I was having to deal with butthurt person after butthurt person trying to argue with me whenever we still had the ability to comment on each others answers.
I have no people shutting people down in debates. But truth be told the more energy I have to focus on arguing with people, the less energy I can focus on churning out my beautiful opinions.
To hell with that feature. It was straight "GAHBAGE" as New Yorkers are wont to say.

Per Yahoo:
"In order to strengthen and improve community and engagement, we are temporarily disabling comments.
Our goal is always to create a safe, engaging place to connect over interests and passions and we’d love your feedback on how to improve this experience. Please email us your feedback at yahoocommentfeedback@verizonmedia.com"
.
This has already been answered DOZENS of times. Always review the questions in the YA subcategory before you post, so you don't repost something that's already been asked/answered thoroughly.
