Are they going to make Titanic 2 or not- it seems like they're leaving a lot of money on the table by not making Titanic 2?

The same reason they won't make a sequel to Star Wars Rogue One and Scarface because all the characters had died.

There were many Titanic movies before the last one including A Night To Remember and there have been other ship disasters that have no movies made for them so maybe one of them will be done instead of remaking the Titanic. 

No because it doesn't need a sequel. 

I'm sure that Hollywood has actually toyed with that idea. They'll milk anything for all it's worth. Remember  the "Jaws," "Rambo," and "Rocky" sequels, all of which were complete pieces of crap? And the original movies weren't all that great, either.

   Face it - Hollywood can't come up with anything new or original. Dredging up old stories and watering them down is their business model.

The ship is at the bottom of the ocean.  It doesn't leave much room for a sequel.

Titanic 2!? Thats an awful idea. It already sank. Are they going to resurrect it and make it a ghost ship? Thats for a totally different audience than the first one. Besides a ghost ship has already been done. As I recall, it was an ok movie, but that cant be done to this tale. Its too iconic of an event and itd be disrespectful to its history and lost lives. So no, no one is making a Titanic 2.

The lead characters would have to be black gay and possibly disabled. Obviously it would have to pass the Bechdel test, is that really what you want Titanic to be like?
