Buy a pair of 'Powerline Extenders' which will create a virtual ethernet between the router and your room. If you buy the sort that have two or three ethernet sockets on the 'remote' unit you can run up to 3 devices from one Extender.

It is also possible to buy Extenders that provide both ethernet and WiFi at the remote end (but they are much more expensive and only needed if you have a device like an iPad that doesn't have an ethernet capability).

For gaming, using a wired connection is ALWAYS the preferred choice.

Running a segment of Cat5E is a possibility, you just need to have someone who knows what they're doing install it.  Electricians or people who install security alarms can do it.You can try the powerline adapter approach - https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/everything... can look at moving your router closer to your room.  You should try to position the WiFi router as close to dead center in the space you want it to operate in as possible.You can get Wi-Fi extenders.  Google it.  Just be aware you will lose about 50% of the bandwidth with extenders if you don't get ones that have dual radios.You can get a Wi-Fi mesh system (best solution after running Ethernet).

Cheapest:

Modify antenna on the router.  Put a metal pie plate behind it.  That will concentrate the wireless signal from and back to the router by 2X.  Put a deeper bend into it to form an parabolic dish.  Even an old auto headlight backside would do it.  Alignment is critical--just a degree or two off target drops the intensity.

Not expensive:  You can put an amplified antenna onto the router.  Most have a small coax connector you can use for replacing the existing antenna.  Check your router before ordering a $30 unit.

Some expense:  A bridge wireless access point that will extend the range of your router's broadcast area, and your computer's access.  Check to see if it is compatible with your router's tech (2.4 or 5 GHz or both)

More money:  The Powerline or HomePlug tech duo wireless or wired pair of senders for your home AC wiring, like others suggest.

There IS a way to get an ethernet cable in your room, sir.
