I pop m & m's and sunflower seeds all day but don't feel an increase in energy. Why NOT?
co-worker says it is depeleting my energy
but I told her to mind her own business and eat her own food the way she wants to
she snarled saying you are what you eat
I told her same for her and the boss told us to cool it or we will have to do overtime with him for a week.

Because your seeds and candy are going straight to your gut. The fatter you get, the less energy you'll have.

Sunflower seeds are good for you but not m&m's. You can't expect to get energy from those two alone. Your body needs various vitamins and minerals to keep it running well, that's why you need various healthy foods because they all have different nutrients your body needs.

Maybe you are hypoglycemic, your body produces a little to much insulin naturally. This is the opposite of being g duabetic. Ironically, hypoglyemic people are,AF increased risk of becoming type 2 diabetics as they get older.
See a medical doctor, either a general practitioner for a professional referral or an endocrinologist.
