Do you think it's irresponsible to not cancel a wedding happening within the next month because of COVID-19?
I think it's very selfish.

absolutely selfish and depending on where you live it could also border on being illegal. where I live if you have more then 50 people, you need to have special clearance and a wedding wouldn't be considered a valid reason to have that clearance given.

No, the world is ending soon as Yahoo Answers is over.

Hey, if the person marrying the couple shows up, the wedding is not cancelled. If no guests show up and the officiant is there to marry the couple, the marriage happens. One does not need a reception to be officially married.
The venue or the players may cancel their services (photographer, florist, music, food service, officient)......so the bride and groom will have no choice but to cancel.
Is it irresponsible not to cancel a reception...yes. but if someone is willing to preform the ceremony, then the couple may want to get married that day...just the two of them....then reception to follow after the pandemic is over, perhaps.
I would not attend any gatherings at all, of any kind, at this time.

As usual you gave zero context or details.
Is this a backyard wedding with ten guests?
Is this a church wedding with 250 guests?
I see ZERO reason it's selfish to get married as planned ("have a wedding") even if guests cannot attend. Invitations are not subpoenas and people need to be responsible for their own health/safety.
I think it's selfish of you to think that a couple should reschedule their wedding so that you are able to attend. You were invited. Accept or decline. If you must change your acceptance to decline because of C19, so be it. Inform the couple and extend your regrets.

At this time, I feel it's very inconsiderate to not cancel any ceremony with invitees.

You think it's selfish for the bride & groom to not cancel? It's their wedding, it's about them. I'm sure many won't attend, but it's up to them....

It's a difficult spot to be in.
Many will not get refunds from their vendors and postponing might not be an option.
In my state the governor has shut down some weddings because there's an executive order prohibiting any events of more than 50 people and a lot of venues are shut down for the next 2 weeks too by a mandate. Right now in Michigan all bars and restaurants are closed to dine in, they can offer take out and delivery though.
For those who choose to proceed with their weddings... attendance as a guest is optional.

So no-one should get married until COVID 19 is not around or becomes rare? What if it's around in 10 years? I think it would be selfish for guests who don't want to come because of Covid 19 not to tell the couple.

Don't prioritize your personal interest to the safety of everyone else. However, don't cancel it just postpone it. - you can tell it to them. Whoever they are.

No, it isn’t rude. Guests have the option to attend or not attend. They may find that few guests attend
