Is piercing my ears a good idea if I have past trauma that could be triggered in doing so?

Ok so when I was really young I actually had pierced ears for about a month, I was about six or seven. It's not really a big deal but it was pretty traumatic for me because I was so young but basically I based off of the limited amount I remember something happened that resulted in my father trying to tear them out and I remember I needed a doctor to remove them properly after my mother took me out of the situation. So basically my earlobes are really sensitive now. I can't stand things touching them and it usually freaks me out when someone reaches for my ear to point out that there's kind of a scar. So obviously the clear answer would be no.. but it's only really triggering if something brings up the memory, like if someone just reaches for it without saying anything and im not really paying attention it's fine, but if they mention the scar while reaching out it feels like I'm reliving the memory. Do you think getting them repierced would be "triggering" or would I be fine?? Is this the way to help myself get over it or do you think having an earring would remind me of it more and more??
