My PC disk tray keeps opening and closing by itself.?
I've searched up some fixes online and they do not work. I hardly use my disk tray so there shouldn't be anything wrong with the disk itself. Doubt I got hacked, because why even bother with the disk tray? Also have anti virus and malware software (I know that they don't catch everything but still). What I haven't done is remove the hardware itself and see if there's something wrong with it because I wouldn't know how to fix it.
My computer is windows 10, custom-built.

In the olden days when optical drives were more commonly used, the disk tray popping open typically meant that there was some data on an optical disk that some piece of software was looking for. I don't know which drive letter your optical drive is assigned to, let's say it's "D:" drive. Just try to find out of anything is looking for a file on D: drive. You can find out which files any programs have open by using the Resource Monitor (type "resmon" at the search bar).

Unplug the ribbon cable and leave the power cable connected. If it keeps doing it, it's a bad drive. If it stops, it's probably something sending a control signal to it, such as a program wanting a disk

It's unusual. You may have an execution path putting priority on the DVDRW and when it finds it empty of disc, it opens for one. Some keypunch or software could be triggering it to open.
Often in custom built is free call-in hardware support.
Optical drives are among the least expensive items in the PC.
Be certain it is right for half-high or full height in replacement

If you open the pc, photo the connections, it's generally held in by one or two screws and easy to replace for most people. Shutdown and unplug.
You would not fix an optical drive. You buy new.
It's hard to know what is wrong with it.
It may even e under warranty if not over 3 years old.
