Has anyone ever been arrested in Paris for taking a pic of the Eiffel Tower at night?

Is that a real law or one of urban legends?

In Britain I have not heard of that urban myth. What is the differenced between photographing a famous landmark in the daytime and at night, apart from minor adjustments to the camera?

Every summer, hundreds of thousands of tourists visit Paris and take photos of the Eiffel Tower in all sorts of lighting conditions.

Take all the pictures you want as long as it's for personal use.

Copyright infringement is civil not criminal.

images.google.com.  Search for Eiffel Tower at night. Thousands of images. No one has ever been arrested for posting these pictures. Magazines may need to pay for the rights to publish such pictures, but if this is a law, it's not enforced.

It’s not illegal to take pictures of the Eiffel Tower at night as long as it’s for personal use. But if you post it on media then you’re breaking copyright laws. The rights to the lights are owned by the artist that installed it. So if you publish it, you’re breaking copyright laws.

We’ve been there twice and at light, if you look down at the park across from the Eiffel you can see flashes from cameras.
