What's the difference between Mobsters and Gangsters...if any?

Are they interchangeable terms?

I think mobsters, in particular, are gangsters, but affiliated with the "mob", ie, the mafia. Gangsters is more a generic term, could mean any gang on any street.

Mobsters are more organized/unified than gangsters.

Another way of looking at it.

Gangsters are the ones who are more than happy to pull the triggers.

Mobsters are the ones who won't hesitate to order/pay someone to pull the triggers.

    Gangsters are the Omega's organization.

    Mobsters are the Alpha's organization.

A mobster is always a gangster, but a gangster doesn't necessarily have to be a mobster.
