By public transport, get to Flagstaff station ( change trains at southern cross to something going through the loop if travelling on VLine from Wyndham Vale) and get the 58 tram to West Coburg, the zoo is at stop 25. Or get the train to any city station and change to an Upfield get off at Royal Park station.
If travelling on the metro line, change to Upfield train at North Melbourne
By car, get on the princes freeway toward city, transfer to Westgate freeway, then onto citylink. Get off at racecourse road, veer left onto Eliot ave

1. Go to Australia. Plane is the easiest way to get there.
2. Go to Melbourne. It is the second largest city in Australia on the south coast. It is a bit bleak at the moment being winter but it is warm to hot and sunny in summer.
3. Route 58 between West Coburg and Toorak runs via William Street in the city centre every day, with services as often as every 6 minutes, stopping directly outside Melbourne Zoo at Stop 26. Or,
4. Trains run from Flinders Street Station on the Upfield line every day, stopping at Royal Park Station - just across the road from Melbourne Zoo's rail gate entrance.
Easy!

From where? We stayed in a hotel downtown, near Chinatown, and it was an easy ride by tram. Just get to the central station.
