What is the best way to get rid of dust?

I live in an appartement, and every day a lot of dust keeps getting on my things. I have a large white L shaped desk and every day I have to remove it and it's getting it, its getting on my computer screen, mousepad, TV, electronics, etc.

I do also have a cat, which I think doesn't help.

Is there a way I can prevent dust from getting on my desk to quickly?

Turn the desk upside down when you're not using it. And throw the cat out onto the street.

Put a sheet over it when not in use.

Put a better filter on your furnace if you can.

Go to a big box hardware store and purchase an inexpensive box fan, usually under $20.00, and while there, purchase a 20 inch by 20 inch square furnace filter. The filter will match the fan in size. Place the filter against the fan and turn the fan on.. the suction will hold the filter in place. Let it run 24/7 to trap the airborne dust. After a few months, replace the filter. They run around $5.00 each. I run this system in my shop and it works great.

Accept that you will never beat dust. But you can reduce it. Damp wipe hard surfaces and fit a HEPA filter to your vacuum cleaner.
