Do things happen for a REASON? NO...……But I'm ok with people who do. ;-)

Lets tread the boards on this. I feel that’s definitely more prevalent in a belief system than non-religious. I believe that religious people are more likely to see meaning in life events. I believe that religious people are much more likely to say that these things are there to teach them a lesson, have a purpose or, ultimately for the good.

What about kids though? Are they interested in the causes of things whether they’re religious or not.? Do they think things happen for a meaning or, have a purpose? I don't know I've not asked any. ;-)

Just had a thought, maybe its very reassuring to think this. When bad things happen there’s an underlying purpose behind them, wow! Am I convincing myself Stan? What if there’s a silver lining, what if there's a plan a reason when we f uc k up?

The idea that the world is this pitiless place where things just happen, one damn thing after another could be frightening to many people, right Stan? RIGHT. ;-)

you’ve likely realized that everything in life does happen for a reason. And, even when you can’t understand it at that very moment, it does. Because, down the line, somewhere in the future, somewhere in the unknown, something else happens that’s so wonderful, that it’s only then that you realize it would have never come to fruition had you not suffered that earlier tragedy in the first place. One very powerful realization is that everything happens for a reason because it’s preparing you for what’s to come in life. It’s helping to get you ready for a bigger and brighter future. You can’t have the pleasure of success without suffering through the pain of defeat. Even when these are tragedies outside of our control, there is a reason for them.

No, because some of the things that have happened in my family couldn't possibly have happened for e reason.

Like as in fate or destiny - no.

Like in causality (as it relates to physics) - yes.
