You can't award best answer to the same account that posted the question. You don't ever get 2 pts for posting an answer. The only reason the ability for an account to post an answer to their own question exists is so if the user finds an answer before anyone else posts a correct one, they can share it, so others might benefit since this place was designed to be a repository of knowledge and experience.

No. You do NOT get ant points when you answer your own question, and your answer never get s the " Choose as best answer button." That's how the computer programs were coded. You cannot point game that way.

No, you would have to answer someone else's questions in order for your answers to be awarded as best answer.

You can answer your own question but you will not get any points for doing it. You also can not get the best answer to your own question. The Award best answer bar will not show for your answer.

You can't answer your own question. (Well, I don't think so. Try it!) You COULD have two accounts, ask under one sign-on and answer under another. But why would you bother? I mean, what do you win?

Years ago you could vote up or down on an answer to a question, even if you had answered it yourself. If the asker didn't assign a Best Answer (which, most often, they don't), the question that got the most votes would be made Best Answer. And since your vote was likely to be the only one with even 1 vote, you could win that way. But you can't do that now.
