    Curse words are not Allowed to be Used on this Site Because of the Wide Range of Age Groups that Use this Site and the Fact that some people use this Site for Business Yahoo has to keep the Language Appropriate for Everyone

    There are people as young as 13 that use this Site and there are people as Old as 40 and up

    Some words are filtered out because they are considered profane or vulgar, and since this is a knowledge seeking site, there is no need for posts to contain that type of language (and it's to spare the minors from dealing with yet another site full of vulgarities).

    Not sure what word you are referring to specifically, and some words that the filter catches seem inappropriate to filter (like the shortened word for pornography).
