What do liberals think of the nuclear family?

There is nothing wrong with the nuclear family. What I am against is the notion/position that it is the only worthwhile kind of family.

I think the nuclear family is very important for well-adjusted children growing up into adults.

And I am VERY liberal.

I don't really care one way or the other, to be honest. One can have whatever sort of family one darn well pleases. It's called 'freedom'.

I’m for letting people decide their family structures for themselves, without the government getting involved one way or the other.

Conservatives and Christians would have you believe we hate that sort of family, merely because we recognize that it is not the only type of family in existence.

Please broaden your news sources so you learn some real facts about the opposition. Everyone wants a whatever their vision of an ideal family is to raise their children. Your vision and someone else's may be different and that's okay. Children need lots of love. As long as they get that they will turn out just fine.

I prefer that children be raised by GOOD parents. The rest doesn't matter.
