Do you think Barack Obama had anything to do with Harriet Tubman being scheduled to replace Andrew Jackson as the face of the $20 bill?

The campaign started during the Obama administration (See link below). Did he have ANYTHING to do with it? Of course, yes, he was the President.

Doubtful, it's more likely that the treasury felt more comfortable getting it passed under Obama rather than Bush. It's funny to watch men with poor self esteem cry about ONE BILL not having a white male on it. Moms, we need to help shape confident sons!

Yes. Obama ignores his white half in favor of his black half, since it gets him special treatment.

I am guessing you didn’t do your civil duty and signed the petition.

I already notified my bank that I don't want any of those bills. Who wants to look at that ugly old face. Either the bank will give me tens or I close my account.

No
Here is what it comes down to. A lot of OCD people collect coins.
So every time they make a major change like that, those OCD people squirrel away millions of dollars in "mint" condition bills, which is basically like the US getting a free loan until that lunatic dies.
All those new quarters? About a hundred million in interest free loans from coin collectors.
So changing the twenty? Especially to something wildly different?
Better than printing money.
You're printing collectibles.

From what I have read, it was the Treasury Department that was behind that. But, Obama was in favor for.

Obama bent over backwards, he really went out of his way, to avoid accusations that he favored blacks. He knew, of course, that Republicans would say that anyway.

Doubtful. That seems like a decision for the Department of the Treasury.
