Should I take our rescue pit bull back to the shelter because he attacked my 16 year old and she’s severely injured?

The dog had behavioural issues that I thought I could handle. My daughter was left alone with him because she had no school today. Me and her dad were at work. Her little brother was at a friend’s house. Our neighbor had to call 911 after my daughter was severely injured by the dog. It happened outside when she was walking him. They said it’ll take a while for her to recover.

Take it into the woods and shoot it.

Nah, she's young, she'll heal quickly.

Put yourself in the place of your daughter and then answer this question

Yeah sure, TROLL. Just report for FLAME BAITING, people.

If 911 were called they would've shot the dog or had Animal Control take it for quarantine or straight euthanasia. If you had any common sense you'd have the dog euthanized yourself as the dog is unsafe. So I'm going to question the authenticity of this post if you have to ask a bunch of strangers what to do.

The dog is not safe. He needs to be put down. If he attacks a 16 year old, he would kill a very small child.

As a parent I am not sure why you even need to ask.

    The dog cannot be trusted.

    It needs to be euthanised.

Then you should be against letting people own these animals. It has got the jaw equipment so it is not surprising that it uses it. I also think we owe it to all the good dogs to put these bullies back in th4 shadows where we always knew they belonged, like junk yards.

You should take him to your vet and have him humanely euthanized, NOT take him back to the shelter.
