Which of these would you prefer programmers and developers?

If you wanted to rent office space to work in.

Would you like if there was already a computer there with all the software you would need. It would cost a little more monthly

or

would you rather just bring your own PC and set up. And you would have to supply all the software you need yourself.

why would you weant to rent office space so you can do something you can do just as well at home? (and not have to rent a computer)

If you need software then buy it (its tax deductable)

Just from a security point of view, I'd never work on a system that has been provided by a third party. Over here, it's either my own or my employer's system. If my employer chooses to outsource that task, that's their problem, not mine.

I'd definitely want to bring my own computer.

I'd want a huge screen for instance, at least 24". And I would have to be able to install any software I want. If these things are possible, I'd maybe consider using a provided PC.

Bring your own of course! That way you know exactly what's in it making sure there are no hidden programs running in the background snooping on you.

If they are already programmers and developers, it seems they would already have their computers and software setup the way that they like. Unless there is some other advantage to paying more rent for something they should already have, I can't see any advantage.
