This is a very complicated problem. I largely agree with something called Just War Theory. But that requires a legitimized government to take action and put a stop to evil. The government is to bear the sword and put down evildoers. The former War On Terror seemed like an attempt to do that.

But how is it possible to stop something that is so rampant and subversive as this? We are dealing with a worldwide distribution of individuals with a particular ideology. It isn't that we can just fight an isolated group or just defeat a wicked nation like we did to Hitlers Germany or even Communist USSR. It is like trying to deal with creeping charlie that is networked and embedded everywhere. Unfortunately, it would require an entire purge of that violent ideology. And we neither have the heart nor the resources to stop it.

Instead of fixing the problem, it seems like we may just be trying to manage the problem instead.

Oddly enough, I was under the impression that an ALL-POWERFUL God would not NEED any Enthusiastic Rectums committing violence on his behalf.

And when was the last time that survivors of violent acts convered to the religion of those who committed the acts?

Also: A God with the Power to change water into wine or to change Mrs. Lot into a pillar of salt or a mudpie into Adam, would surely have the POWER to change gunpowder into mustard, and bombs into cabbages, thereby preventing the mosque attacks AND the retaliation against Christian churches.

But, in order to USE that Power, the God would have to GIVE a crap about human suffering.

And in order to give a crap, that God would have to exist.

Other than piles of words, do either Christians OR Muslims have testable, repeatable, consistent evidence of the existence of their particular Gods?
