He would be overthrown. Monarchs cannot interfere in government and expect to continue in their 'job'.

He is already unpopular. If he were to meddle in politics as king, he would help end the monarchy.

Yes but what would the public do as anyone who grumbles too loudly would be labelled a terrorist and disturber of the peace

Prince Charles knows that once he becomes King, his political comments will be VERY restricted. And I seriously doubt he'll risk bneing involved.

He cannot meddle in the affairs of government, if he tries he will be swiftly slapped down.

The key word is "if;" Charles knows the limits of the constitutional monarchy. If he did,it would depend on the decisions he would make--if it is seen as being helpful to the citizenry, he would be popular. Charles is allowed to give advice under the constitution, so sharing views is not meddling.
If he were just being meddlesome and unhelpful, he would be unpopular. Charles is aware that he will be very restricted in the actions he takes so "meddling" is unlikely.

He will carry out the same role as his mother, which is to say he can advise, counsel or warn, but as he will do this in his weekly meeting with the PM, it won't be public.
