    It doesn't matter who petitions or who signs first,

    all that matters is that the paperwork gets going

    and through the courts ASAP, so that all parties

    sign (in whatever order).

    WHERE? This is not International law.

    In general either party can file for divorce if either party has legal grounds for divorce.

    If the papers are already prepared, yes, the petitioner signs and files and the respondent does just that - responds.

    They have no children together that was 8 years ago. He found her , she definitely wants a divorce.

    We got a package from legal aid, who signs first? The petitioner and files at the court house? He has cancer and to get a medical card he has to consider what she makes. Unless they are divorced. How do we do this?
