Prince Philip, 97, a danger on the road and an out of touch old fart. Why hasn't his licence been revoked?

Any 'normal' person probably wouldn't still have a licence at 97 or if they did, and caused an accident, it would have been taken off them quick smart.

When the will English establishment stop toadying to those they consider their 'betters'? It's only an accident of birth that's put those useless people where they are.

There are over 100,000 drivers over 90 on the road. They are all probably fairly wealthy as insurance rises sharply at that age. Obviously high insurance isn't going to put Philip off.

He's probably never had a licence.

I agree he should lose his license if he was at fault in the crash. I do not agree however that the royal family is useless.

There's a good chance he never even had a licence.

NO one should be driving at 97. In fact, 85 is to old to drive. Sight is not what it used to be, hearing is shot and reflexes are slow.

He hasn't been charged yet. It will almost certainly be revoked in effect. Probably banned for, say, 10 years

If the police come to the conclusion that Philip was at fault for the accident, he will lose his license. Only the Queen is exempt from the law, but still is expected to follow the law!

There is one set of laws but, unfortunately, two ways of applying those laws.

    1) you can drive at 97 but they test you every year to make sure you can still drive

    2) He wasn't born into royalty-that was the Queen

    3) The Queen can do anything she want because she is legally above the law so she can just pardon her husband

    4) He is an old fart

I agree. 97 years old is too old to drive.
