Just like any other part of the world there are Fish and Chips restaurants in QC. But if you really want to try local cuisine with potatoes as the star, you gotta eat our poutine.

Canada is not British, and hasn't been for over 150 years. I have eaten fish 'n chips in Quebec, so, yes, they do have it. They also have poutine instead of regular chips - something that is really catching on in the rest of Canada.

You do know potatoes originated in South America and introduced to Europe via the Spanish? EVERYWHERE in Europe. Guess what? Fish is everywhere in Europe too.

But why would you eat fish n chips when you have an authentic well made poutine nearby?

    433 Rue McGill Montreal

BRIT and Chips has two locations.

The menu was created by a team of Montreal’s preeminent experts in English cuisine and food culture, after tireless treks through England, hunting down different recipes and ideas from the most renowned English Fish n’ Chips shops. The result is an amazing mix of the best that Britain has to offer, with a little Québecois spice.
