He was a pretend pilot for the Air Ambulance and they get paid by the NHS so he was still taking tax payers money. Public donations are just for the upkeep of the helicopters. He's a lazy parasite like the rest of them.

Yesterday he was standing in for the Queen which he does on a regular basis.

William was a PILOT for the air ambulance, not a passenger.

He is an official working royal--military appointments, diplomatic duties, charitable, medical, education foundation work, assisting the Queen:

I hate to be the one to tell you, but he wasn't a passenger for the Air Ambulance. He was a pilot and a very skilled one at that, as Air Ambulance pilots have to be. Plus there was the fact that while working as an Air Ambulance pilot he donated all his wages to charity.

Sure. He's done lots of things. He's gotten married. He's had children. He heads up a number of charities and foundations. On top of that, he's got all his responsibilities as member of the Royal Family, which is full-time. His appearance schedule alone consumes much of his day most days. That's all actually a lot. Putting these things together, the demands on his time are well more than most people's. Even I can see that all the way over here from the other side of the pond—never mind the enormous toll being constantly under the microscope of public scrutiny and in the lens of paps takes on him, and has taken.

You know, I can understand Brits feeling like the Monarchy is vestigial and should be done away with, but I can't understand personally disparaging someone who devotes his entire life—his entire identity and self even—to this all-consuming role that he never asked for but only happened into by circumstance of his birth. He doesn't cry 'poor little rich boy', nor should he, but that doesn't mean you're giving him a fair shake—as if you in his position would stand to do any better and wouldn't only stand to do worse, even far worse.

IMHO, Brits should piss or get off the pot. Do away with the monarchy if you're going to do away with it. Otherwise, pipe down. This endless complaining, it's not becoming. All you do is paint the British people as horribly tedious and wholly ineffectual.

He didn't do anything when he was in the air ambulance. It's akin to North Korea pretending to win the world cup.
