What would you do?

So I am filtering [lane splitting] between two lines of stationary cars vans trucks. I have a narrow sports bike and I come up behind a guy on a tourer which is much wider, so he cant get through the same gaps. So I hung back and let hium do his thing. What should he have done? Let me pass ore just kept pretending I wasn't there? What would you have done?
