My seat belt buckle just pushes into the locking mechanism, and to release my belt I just push this rectangular button. Lately...?

I've had to wrestle with the buckle to release it. How do I fix this. Oil? I think one of theses days the buckle won't release at all.

maybe try what would be used on a lock - graphite...............oil will leave a residue, but graphite ( which usually is in a squeeze type of "pen" ) will not

    You might be right.

One day you could get into an accident and maybe your car will catch on fire. 🔥

Then you can worry about it!

See if you can unstick it's works with WD40 spray. Spread towels to prevent staining the furniture. If that doesn't work, replace the seat belt.
