In Quebec, can you be made to immediately pay a speeding ticket, to the police officer that pulled you over, in cash?

A few years ago I traveled from Ontario through Quebec and got pulled over for speeding. The cop told me that since i was from out of province, the cop said if I did not have cash immediately available to pay the ticket, then I could be arrested and put into jail until someone came and paid it for me. In the end he just wrote me a ticket and left, as I did not have cash. Thinking back on it now it seems very sketchy.

There are ZERO jurisdictions where an officers can require immediate payment in cash.

There are FEW where the officer can legally accept immediate payment in cash.
