Question classiffication?

Does anyone else wonder why Yahoo Answers bothers to have sections for different subjects/ questions when very few people asking questions even bother to ask in the correct section.

We have NOT been able to CHOOSE which category and subcategory questions post in since 2013 -04 IS WHY. Server computers use key words in the question headers to determine which category and subcategory to post questions in. You CANNOT CHOOSE WHERE your questions post, but you CAN MOVE your questions AFTER they post. To a certain extent you CAN choose WHERE you post your question, but the computer programs determine which category and subcategory a question posts in.

I just answered a question in Geography that really belongs in Politics are Current Affairs. probably either the person who asked the question DELIBERATELY posted the question in the wrong subcategory to bait and phish for answers from SPECIFIC YA community members OR level 7 account maliciously moved the question. because it had NOTHING to with geography other than being about Trump.

Verizon removed the category list and left column in the middle of November 2017, probably to make the YA display less visually confusing for people who use mobile devices., but they still haven't done anything about having to put mobile devices into desktop mode, which why Verizon now owns Yahoo.. Yahoo couldn't keep up with move to mobile devices.

Your last question was 8 months ago after the format changed. Yes, it is STILL annoying, but most of us have adapted and moved on.

Actually a fair amount do ask in the correct subcategory, but malicious level 7s move the questions to inappropriate categories. There are, of course, some people who intentionally put their question on the wrong location, but often when that happens those questions are violations anyway.

Without categories here, the place would be an even bigger mess. Few would be willing to scroll through pages and pages of questions to find one they wanted to answer or were able to answer.
