I have a grammar question. Read details, please.?

I tweeted this that says: "I think #Naruto become a Jedi, as he saw a spirit just like Luke Skywalker on The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi." My question is: Is it become or became? I just want to make sure which tense is it that I have to use in what I tweeted.

Just pick a tense and stick with it. If you're talking about a comic book or movie, you can use the historical present- "becomes" and "sees". But you need the "s" on "become" because Naruto is singular.

Or you can use the past tense to describe something in the past- "became" and "saw". Don't change tenses when you're talking about things in the same time frame.

Become is present tense. Became is past tense and should be used in your example.
