Bingo. Most of us cut down our spending, work two jobs, and look for better employment.

you don't watch what you are spending, taxes will probably only take possible 25% of your income at the very most, if you have an unreliable car maybe you need to junk it and ride the bus or other means of transportation

and you really need to watch where you are spending your money, maybe you rent far out of your reach, maybe you eat out far too much, if you smoke, or drink you could do without that, it certainly does not contribute to any asset or savings you might use your money

Get rid of the shitty car. Some cars are very expensive to run. Get one that has a good repair record, used. Unless you have lots of money and insist on a new car, a good used car is a far better choice. If you cannot afford another car, then sell the car and take the bus. A car costs plenty to run. Taking the bus for a year or two will enable you to save money. People with a good income, who also manage their money well can afford a family although, it sometimes takes both parents working. So, have a look at your expenses and see where you can cut them. Cancel the gym membership - buy one or two used pieces of equipment and put them in your home. Cancel the golf games, buy food in bulk and eat out just two or three times a year.
