Windows 10: Can t connect to any website but my torrent downloader still works and I can do so in other laptops?

basically the only way I was able to even post this question was by accessing another laptop in the house. Due to this, I can conclude that the problem is not with the router, but with the windows 10 laptop itself. How to fix?

check the DNS address in the laptop's wifi connection and/or browser. It may have been improperly fixed to a non working address

[usually, the DNS address is dynamically provided by your ISP .. however, it is possible to set your browser or connection to always use a different DNS address. DNS is what translates a webaddress such as "yahoo.com" into the IP address ... a string of numbers. My guess is the torrent system, which which I'm not familiar, uses a fixed IP address consisting of all numbers and thus doesn't use the DNS system at all]
