The only one I can think of is Jim Irsay. He was born in Illinois, currently lives in Indiana, and inherited the Indianapolis Colts from his father, Robert Irsay, in 1997. The team did not move, but a new stadium, Lucas Oil Stadium, was built in time for the 2008 NFL season.

Bought 1993-1995.

Update:

Believe he was from the Midwest, didn't move the team. It's stadium sucked.

Update 2:

May have been like a son that inherited the team and built a new stadium.
