Why not use heroin in lethal injections?

Update:

The states are getting push back from the pharmaceutical companies for using drugs to kill people vs help people. Since we all know heroin can kill you, it's a sedative and painless, and the police confiscate lots of it drug busts every year why not use it?

    cos what they use now is deemed better than opiates (diamorphine)

    Personally I don't think that civilized countries should be in the business of murdering their own citizens.
