Car stereo system display troubleshooting?

Hi, so a normal day, I turn on my car's ignition and everything is ok, except that my stereo system's display is on (colored blue) but it's completely blank. Normally, it would say "welcome" and display the radio channel, but today none of that. Just a blank blue screen. None of the controls work, can't adjust volume, stations, etc. I used the car 30mins prior and the radio worked fine. Parked, and that's the last time. Nothing done unusual.

This has actually happened once before. Same blank screen, but iirc I was able to adjust the volume and tuning dials. This magically was fixed after taking the stereo system out, plugging it back in a few times.

This time, I tried the same but no luck. After a bit of jamming it in out of frustration, I noticed that I could hear the faint bass sounds, I think from the sub. But no where else. This time I connected my phone to it via aux cable. So I could change songs form the phone, but that's it. The sound was very faint, but noticeable. None of the other speakers were working and the stereos control and display were the same as before. Help?

Hi so how old is this car stereo as most never last very long due to the solder which holds the components in the circuit board. since lead was remove from solder it has caused a lot more dry joints in loads of electronic pieces of equipment. so these just don't last long. so you might end up buying a new one. so take it out and get it looked at a service repair shop.
