Pope Francis. Do you agree with his statements on atheism and belief?

In a Sermon he gave, he stated it's better to be an atheist than a hypocritical Christian. He said hypocritical Catholics and Christian live double lives, claiming to follow Jesus but exploiting people, money laundering, and engaging in injustice.

He was hinting that he believes at least atheists have more integrity and that Christians who are hypocritical should stop saying they follow Christ.

He's a Marxist Jew. I don't agree with him. That's his opinion, not a fact. They are hypocrites in every group.

You are in error. It is NOT his opinion. He is quoting someone's else.

Basically, yes, I do agree with that.

I'd say it's in line with scripture too. Rev 3:15-17 talks about how god prefers you to be either hot or cold, not lukewarm, as he'll spew you from his mouth. I'd imagine the lukewarm would be those occasional christians or hypocrites.

I would read the full speech. British news about Catholic matters is pretty poor quality.

I wouldn't trust their opinion about what he was hinting. If they're right it's luck.
