Is it not ludicrous that the name of a person cannot be disclosed In the UK when it is published inn Scotland, Ireland and the US?

Presumably you mean cannot be disclosed in England?
The UK comprises England, Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland.
So your question makes little sense.

If the asker means the Republic of Ireland then thats a Sovereign state as is the US of course. UK laws do not apply to them. Scotland is a part of the UK but does have a separate legal system so an injunction may not apply there.?

Depends on how the laws work in each country, a lot of money could be at stake for the lawyers and anyone else in contempt. So it's not ludicrous really, just a legal minefield.

It seems like a waste because of that, but it is UK law, so it keeps people in UK from knowing the person's name. You could always look up the name on American websites.
