Why are so many Vegans so hateful.?

Just reading responses and questions being asked on here. Just wondering why vegans do not respect others like they feel like they must spit in the faces of anybody who chooses to eat meat or use animal products. While most meat eaters could careless how you live; if you do not eat meat they do not care. Just an observation.

"Why are so many Vegans so hateful.?"

The "many vegans" here on Yahoo Answers are just a few in number actually, who are hateful, towards others. In fact a large percentage of vegans actually tend to shun such types. There are about five to seven individuals, who are outright hateful, towards even other vegans, here on Yahoo Answers. Some of the older, and/or more mature, realize that those more extremist, and militant vegans are doing more harm than good. Then there are a few who are smug and arrogant, especially towards those who are older. These also do a great deal of damage as well in the end. However one individual has at this time several accounts, and recently lost a high level account by their own admission.

Not all of the hateful posts posed as questions, comes from one person. Also some of the answers has as well. There are nuances, and it's exceptionally rare that someone can alter their style significantly enough, to maintain a charade of being more than one person. The only reason so many of the "questions, and answers," has remained, and are currently so prolific is an issue with Community Moderation. I spend part of my time rooting out those who post porn, spammers, helpline scammers, and underage users (twelve and younger), as these are for me, more of a priority.

In closing, and again it's only a small number of people, with two individuals, with multiple accounts, doing the most of the hateful posts. I don't give out names, as that in itself is a violation. Remove them and some of other big instigators, and allow real questions about vegetarian and vegan suitable food and drink, along with questions, about how to become either one, and this section would be generally quiet. Among those who would stir things up are even some who eat meat. I'm someone who eats meat, but can and will walk right down the middle.

It's just the way many of them are. They love it here because they can say what they really feel about meat eaters, and hide behind multiple accounts. M'aiq The liar and many others here insist that they aren't to blame, and that only one person is responsible for all the hate on here. Why should we believe them? How can he know it's all one person? He can't. If he's not another identity for one of the trolls he is obviously just making this up to defend veganism. Many cult like groups act this way.

They deny well-documented truths, and make silly claims like, " No vegans are violent, no vegan was ever a serial killer," etc. They are a close knit group of people in denial, who join together to promulgate lies and half truths that make them feel more comfortable with their dubious dietary choices.

They operate much like fundamentalist christian groups in this way.

As the others have said, it's pretty much the same person asking all the inane, stupid questions that make no sense, and they answer just as stupidly.

The two "hateful" vegans that actually make sense are Razz and Robert, but again, they are just as mean, but at least they're smart. Razz has zero tolerance for anyone that doesn't eat anything that casts a 5 o'clock shadow and Robert is just, well Robert.

I wouldn't call them hateful, but very VERY disrespectful if you disagree with them. They are like children, honestly.

You've already been told, but l'll repeat: the hateful posts you see are all from the same person - yoyocat/s, hellovegans, vicious vegan, angry prawn, no? Same person. She's a damaged and disturbed child, but her excuses for being so vile are running out now that she's 16 and can be expectedto take some responsibility for her actions.

    Now you know

yoyocat(s), hellovegans, vicious vegan, angry prawn, lifeisjustpain are all the same mentally ill teen. known as nokia. GreenVEGAN aka thomas is her buddy, they share similar views want to kill, rape, and torture those who eat meat. razz is an old troll, it was formally known as "proud vegan" it is a rude. smug, self righteous *****. who thinks they know everything they have called users "retards" and a "filthy whore" to name just a few she also claims that the insults are "well earned". personally this section whould be better if they ere to leave and never return. moderator is also a troll, he condones violent action to those who eat meat. jessica (the one who cant spell) also fits she is very high on that high horse.

    other trolls status unkown:

    learner

i also have reason to suspect that happy hippie and sunshine are trolls. maybe kc and robert.

if i were to consider the vegan diet, i would be completely shut off to the idea after seeing what they post.

this has nothing to do with this question, but noticed an answer you posted. please don't make

the rest of us men look like filthy rotten pigs. -that may be your view that a woman is a roommate

because she does not have sex, but that doesn't mean the rest of us men treat people that bad

and in my opionion any man that treats anyone this badly is not worthy of having anyone in

their life. don't speak for the rest of us men.

I'm a vegetarian and I agree with you. Saw earlier today someone saying 'go and die meat eaters' and that's just horrible.

Why do some perceive vegans as hateful? Interesting subject. For many vegans, the primary motivation is animal welfare. We don't want to contribute to a cruel and unnecessary industry. So, animal products are equated to the needless suffering of sentient beings. Melanie Joy, PhD, explains the "hate" as a defence mechanism. Read more at carnism.org.

"Carnism is a concept in discussions of humanity's relation to animals, defined as a prevailing ideology that conditions people to support the use of animal products, especially meat." Melanie Joy, PhD

“Often, vegan advocates assume that a person's defensiveness is the result of selfishness or apathy, when in fact it is much more likely the result of systematic and intensive social conditioning.”

― Melanie Joy, Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows: An Introduction to Carnism: The Belief System That Enables Us to Eat Some Animals and Not Others

“But why must the system go to such lengths to block our empathy? Why all the psychological acrobatics? The answer is simple: because we care about animals, and we don't want them to suffer. And because we eat them. Our values and behaviors are incongruent, and this incongruence causes us a certain degree of moral discomfort. In order to alleviate this discomfort, we have three choices: we can change our values to match our behaviors, we can change our behaviors to match our values, or we can change our perception of our behaviors so that they appear to match our values. It is around this third option that our schema of meat is shaped. As long as we neither value unnecessary animal suffering nor stop eating animals, our schema will distort our perceptions of animals and the meat we eat, so that we feel comfortable enough to consume them. And the system that constructs our schema of meat equips us with the means by which to do this.”

― Melanie Joy, Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows: An Introduction to Carnism: The Belief System That Enables Us to Eat Some Animals and Not Others

“Personal purity isn’t really the issue. Not supporting animal abuse – and persuading others not to support it – is.”

― Peter Singer, The Way We Eat: Why Our Food Choices Matter

The only hateful questions on here are asked by the same person under multiple troll accounts.

We're mostly normal human beings, who just happen to eat plants.

Also, it's the internet. The worst people out of small groups are going to stand out the most. Just remember that, next time you pass judgement on millions of human beings you've never met.
