Has the popularity of Slim Jesus shown what a joke rap has become?

He is a white boy...with NOOOO street creds....saying on camera that allll the stuff he talks about is bull s....but he knows the formula to make raps that the people will buy. Rap has gone from music about struggle and perseverance to a commercial joke. Im gonna get my grandma up off the couch and let her make a few raps..SAD.

ok, rap has never been GOOD and it has always been about glorifying moral ambiguity and living for yourself...rap has some fun beats and catchy hooks but I would hardly call stealing other artists' music and using it as a backbeat while you talk really fast about sex and drugs and shooting random people music...like I said, some of it is catchy and gets stuck in your head just like any other popular song, but rap is by far the worst...it takes the least amount of talent and packs the most obscenity and adult-rated content into each song (save for a few metal bands, but they are rare)...so no, Slim Jesus is not showing what a joke rap has BECOME, he is simply exposing what it always has been...

Do you realize that your grandma has struggled as much as you do, for longer than you have?

If she were into rapping, her struggles might be just the kind of music that you want.

BTW, have you listened to your grandma's kind of music, the music that is/was about HER struggles.

Actually in several interviews he said he wasn't from the hood which is obvious.

But I don't really give a damn, rap sucks.
