why do American schools start in september, whereas in some countries it starts at the start of the year?
is it because of the summer and how in the southern hemisphere..summer starts in december and for the north, it starts june? which do you think is better?
ive lived my life thinking that school always starts at the start of the year, but not for most northern hemisphere countries? it would feel weird starting school in the middle of the year..... because christmas and new years are the most important holidays and so it would make sense that the longer holidays would start then

in Australia the school year starts in late January/early February (whereas in America we start late August/early September) and ends in October/November (whereas we finish in May/June). this is due to their summer lasting from December-February

In my area schools start in September and end at June.
I have no idea why it's different in other areas though, perhaps it has something to do with their cultures? Or so that students can begin their summer vacation early, and go back to school so they won't have a clean fresh memory?

Not everywhere is the same. Did you think that was the case? Northern hemisphere academic years start after the harvest
