Should answers.yahoo allow editing for about one day. Frequently, I answer the newest question on my screen after refreshing,?

then find I cannot edit, because the asker has chosen the best answer. Apparently some people see the new questions, minutes before I can. My typos will endure forever. More characters allowed on the question screen would also improve answers? The asking process obviously confuses some askers.

Update:

Is copying part of a correct answer in an edit really abuse? It seems good to me, if good answers are the objective, instead of honoring the person who received the best answer click.

    If there were several answers, The answer to the short version I'm seeing on my screen could be very different than being aware off the rest of the question.

    No, people would abuse such a feature. To fix your typos, just add a comment with the correct text.

    Not necessary so no the shouldn't.The idea is to check your answer before submitting it.
