Is it possible to make a lice comb?

I really don t want to tell my dad that I have head lice, he threatened to cut all of my hair off the next time I bring it home. The lice are totally unbearable! I ve seen remedies and all of them require a lice comb. I can t buy a lice comb myself since I m not allowed out of the house (He s overprotective). I m out of options. Is it possible at all to make a lice comb?

I've had a lot of experience with lice and I can tell you that the combs don't really help.

Once you use the insecticide on your hair, you will need someone to go through your hair bit by bit and pull the 'nits' (lice eggs) off each strand. The nit is wrapped around the hair shaft and will need to be slid all the way off and disposed of. you cannot do it alone.

In addition, you will need to clean your sheets, bedding and such things as coats and hats. Lastly, be sure to let your family know once they are gone, as there is a good chance they have it too, having caught them from you.

    Good luck!

Source(s): My daughter once got lice 9 times in 9 weeks. After several trips to the Health Dept, I became somewhat of a Lice expert. It has nothing to do with cleanliness or social status or upbringing. It just happens. Don't share combs or hats, don't stack your coats on hooks, carry a big plastic bag to put your coat in and hang THAT on teh hook.

Not really, most lice combs are specially made to really dredge the little buggers out.

Looks like you may have to bite the bullet and tell your pop.

Sounds like an unnecessarily angsty situation.

A comb does not cost much... nor does the treatment...

If he threatened to cut off all of your hair he is obviously open to solving the problem via practical means.

Just tell your dad! Trust me I know how you feel I have been there too! Its best to use a treatment you buy in the store since you know there do the job and should kill off all the eggs too! Also someone parents say things when there fed up your dad probably is just getting fed up with the headline and said that so I'm pretty sure he won't cut your hair off! :)
