What will the acceleration of this ball be upon impact?

If a ball with a mass of 10kg is falling at 9.8 ms-2 due to gravity and it hits a stationary ball floating in mid-air with a mass of 1kg what will the acceleration of the larger ball be upon impact? Basically how much will it have slowed by.

Do you know the velocity of the larger ball at the moment of impact? If so, conservation of momentum will allow you to calculate the new velocity of the large ball. But without knowing the time duration of the contact, you can't determine the acceleration because the acceleration during the contact would be high for a contact that lasts only 1 ms and would be considerable lower if thte contact lasts 10 ms.
