Atheists: did you know there are a lot of atheists that convert to Christianity everyday in their adulthood?
Atheists I would like to share this with you. I've heard atheists talk about being "indoctrinated" into Christianity but there are many atheists that convert (as adults) because they see the truth of the Christian faith. Take atheist Jennifer Fulwiler for example (pictured below). Both Jennifer and her husband, Joe, converted to the Catholic Church on the same day as adults. Joe has a MBA from Stanford and Jennifer Fulwiler is a PHP developer. She has become one of the leading evangelists in the church today. She says
"The conversion process was a long road that involved lots of thinking and reading (and eventually praying) and gathering data from tons of different sources. Also, books alone were not enough to convince me to convert; all the information in the world would not have been enough had my heart not been open to it"--Jennifer Fulwiler
"The truth will set you free"--Jesus Christ (John 8:32)
I just said a prayer for atheists on this site that they will be guided into the truth..

If you want to read about her conversion story feel free to visit her website. I know it has helped many atheists and agnostics

That is somewhat confirmed by the Pew Study. My own inaccurate poll taken when I was teaching high school found that 15-20% of teens between 13 and 17 said that they do not believe in God. The 2008 Pew Study found that 3% of those 18-29, 2% of those 30-39 and only 1% of those over 40 said the same thing. That is a 66% drop in atheist's percentage of the population between the ages of 18 and 40. That is huge. Only two things can account for that.... experience and maturity.
http://www.pewforum.org/files/2013/05/report-relig... The age chart is on page 37
In addition the Pew Study also states that, rather than atheism increasing rapidly as so many atheist aver, that it is actually DECLINING rapidly as a percentage of world population.

Note that "unaffiliated" includes those who believe in God but are not part of any religion, agnostics an atheists.

Great. Give where you cite this little piece of information from. A lot. Define a lot. You post 1. 1 is not a lot. A lot would be like thousands of examples. Since you say they convert every day then we had better see many thousands of examples. A reputable census site would be most helpful. Do not point to a religious site that does not quote where they get their numbers from.
Something you should realize is that most atheists are not converted into atheism by other atheists. Heck more atheists are converted into atheism by theists. Most atheists question the claims made by religion and start to doubt. They dig into it and find there is no merit to the claims and decide to not believe the claims. It may be years before they actually meet another atheist. If you doubt this ask a question on here directed to atheists and ask them about it. You will see that this is a common story among them. Atheism comes about on its own without the need for help from other atheists.

So she did research, eh? lol. If she had really done research, she would have known the Bible is made up garbage. It's easy to convert when you are white and living in America. The pressure is so strong. People have a natural desire to belong to a tribe, and it can be difficult being an outsider. I don't know why you think this story of this couple is supposed to affect me in any way. People convert to different religious views everyday. Big deal. Btw, I do believe the most popular religion for an atheist to convert to is Buddhism or paganism. Why, in a country full of Christian missionaries, do you have these two very tiny religions gaining the most atheist converts? And these are not even seeking converts. You'd think the ones with the fancy brochures and the missionaries out preaching would gain the most. Yet if an atheist is going to change their mind and follow a religion, it seems Buddhism and paganism wins over Christianity. In fact, it seems they would rather convert to almost any religion besides Christianity. Why is that, if your religion is so darn wonderful?

- One out of a million is a lot to a fundie.
I've heard atheists talk about being "indoctrinated" into Christianity
- BINGO.

It is impossible for a true atheist to convert to Christianity.
Your comment is a nonsense. It's like saying a person who found 2+2=4 later found it equalled 5.
Don't try to enlighten atheists. Find out what an atheist is and enlighten yourself.

Christians: did you know there are a lot of atheists who have no desire to convert to your time wasting religion, even into adulthood? Have a nice day.
PS: The county I reside in is not a theocracy... bye now!

I read her story and she suggested keeping an open mind and try to act Catholic by going to Mass, praying, etc., all done with one's heart. I tried it and, after 6 months, brainwashed or not, I decided to convert. I started really enjoying Mass, even going to a hypnotist to help me be open to the spiritual, and more. After almost 60 years of being atheist, I decided that being Catholic felt better for me at this point. So, I'm enrolled in an RCIA program.

Just as there are atheists who change to Christians, there are Christians who convert to Islam and Christians who become atheists, and Jews who become agnostics.
Picking one person who converted in the manner you prefer as any kind of proof is just plain silly.

There are various reasons for not believing in god/s, there is a big difference if she just glommed onto her parent's non-beliefs without thinking why, versus looking at religions, history, science, etc. to come to a reasoned rejection of the claims of religion.
She says she "grew up atheist" which indicates to me it was merely the default in her childhood, not something she really thought out. With atheism, there is no threats of punishment for changing one's beliefs, so picking up religion as an adult in her situation was relatively painless.
She picked the most common religion in her culture (Christianity) just like Saudi Arabians and Islam, Tibetans and Taoism, etc.
If you were not reasoned into something, you can be talked out of it equally- emotional manipulation, misunderstanding science/history, etc. and this is as true of atheism as any philosophical position.
