I have a Pioneer Elite 7.1 channel receiver and the rear speakers do not seem to work when speakers are connected?

When I have connected the rear speakers they do not seem to work could this be a relay issue?. The fronts and surrounds work without issue and so does the

subwoofer LFE.

Have you looked through the manual and done what it requires to be done to tune in all the connected speakers ?

Most home theater receivers need the used to run it through a setup phase, where the receiver will then try out each speaker connector and see which ones are, and aren't, in use.

rear channel speakers "speak" when there is information passed to them to do so. surround recordings do not always, and at every moment, have something to send them. Some material may not be surround encoded, like stereo discs for instance. Outside of this fact, check your connections and settings. If there is a issue with the reciever return it for exchange or repair.

You must configure your speaker setup through the yahoo front panel settings, then you must also have program material that supports audio to surround speakers, such as dolby digital or DTS.
