Do the Baptists read the bible at Church? John Smyth, the founder of the Baptist, banned the bible from church?
John Smyth, the founder of the Baptist, was against any form of reading the bible at church.
"Smyth insisted that true worship was from the heart and that any form of reading from a book in worship was an invention of sinful man. This rejection of liturgy remains strong among many Baptists still today. Prayer, singing and preaching had to be completely spontaneous. He went so far with this mentality that he would not allow the reading of the Bible during worship on the grounds that a translation was "...the worke of a mans witt...& therefore not to be brought into the worship of God to be read."
I think it's clear that the Baptist started out at least as some kind of demonic sect.

What an interesting question that actual is superseded by a much better question... what kind of moron are you?
Your bias, emotional investment, closed mindedness and limited logic have prevented you from seeing the blindingly obvious!
1) John Smyth was not the founder of the Baptist movement.. he was an early baptist minister... it's different
2) John Smyth was a man who if quoted accurately was wrong. If you as a Catholic are going to entertain the idea that a man in error can demonstrate the error of a church then I suggest you start with various Popes who had orgies, fathered illegitimate children, killed other Popes... .oh you know the rest
3) Are you really so dumb as to argue that God only uses righteous men to fulfil His purposes? Have you actually read a bible?
On this basis I think I answered my own question.. you're the type of moron who doesn't challenge information you like and ignores information you don't!

I think it's clear that you have no fcuking clue how to study history or read sources critically.
Of course Baptists read the Bible at church. Anyway, there's no such thing as "the (organized) Baptist church)"; Baptist congregations are totally autonomous and independent of each other, so some Baptists do one thing, some do another.
You're drunk.

So, just like the Catholic church then. They banned the publication of any bible in a language that ordinary people could read, so the priests could cherry pick the verses that they wanted, and not have people notice the contradictions, ridiculous claims, etc.

My experience of the Baptist church disagrees with your claims. The Bible is central to Baptist liturgy and worship.
