Which used car should I buy (and are they even worth it)? Nissan vs Hyundai?

I am looking at 2 different used cars, and don't know which I should buy - or if they are even worth it.

- A 2006 Hyundai Accent, 188,000 kms

- A 2005 Nissan Altima, 100,000 kms

Both are $2,000...but because they re both about 10 years old, are they worth it? Will either one last at least a couple of years while not costing me a fortune in repairs?

It sounds like the Altima may be the better of the two since it has 88,000 kms less use but you need to have the one you choose inspected by a mechanic before you make the purchase. You can not expect too much for only $2000.

Nissan has far fewer miles and is netter car.

The older the car the more expensive you'll spend for the repairs. But since you have two options here, go for the lower mileage.

100k km is nothing - cars should should easily last 300k km anymore
