Ps4 Ethernet connection?

So my modem is to far to reach an Ethernet cable from my ps4, and the wifi is God awful. But there's a power line box in my closet that has two Ethernet plugs, and one says in and the other says out, and it says bridge in between them. Am I able to connect my ps4 via Ethernet cable to one of the two slots?

    I am going to guess that that is a surge protector. to protect your computer.
